Dave Chisnall and Michael Smith joint favourites to take 10th Premier League spot
DAVE Chisnall is now the 11/8 joint favourite to become the tenth Premier League participant this year after being trimmed in from 7/4 on Wednesday afternoon.
Chizzy reached the semi-finals of the World Championships with an eye-catching whitewash over Michael van Gerwen in the quarter-finals. BoyleSports have now made the 2019 World Grand Prix finalist the joint favourite alongside fellow St. Helens native Michael Smith.
James Wade has also attracted support with his odds nibbled into 10/1 from 12/1 since Sunday’s confirmation of the first nine competitors. The 2020 BoyleSports Grand Slam of Darts finalist hit a nine-darter at the World Championship and an increasing number of punters are keen to seem him book that all-important last spot.
Gerwyn Price beat Gary Anderson 7-3 to become the first Welshman to win the PDC World Championship and is already being backed to assert his dominance in this year’s Premier League and is now the 5/2 second favourite from 11/4. Michael van Gerwen is the 5/4 favourite to claim a sixth title.
Dimitri van den Bergh and Jose de Sousa are the new names pencilled in for full Premier League debuts. 2020 BoyleSports Grand Slam of Darts champion Jose de Sousa is 16/1 while the 2020 World Matchplay winner Dimitri van den Bergh is 10/1 from 16/1, the biggest mover we have seen this week.
Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “The upcoming Masters has been expanded from the usual 16-man field to 24 players, with a Premier League spot up for grabs for someone who can catch the eye. Dave Chisnall is the joint 11/8 favourite alongside Michael Smith to bag the tenth berth, with Chizzy cut in from 6/4 on Wednesday afternoon.
"He enjoyed a positive World Championship bid making the semi-finals and there is growing confidence he could join the other nine contestants in the Premier League line-up.â€
