Harry Coppell breaks British pole vault record
BILLINGE athlete Harry Coppell has set a new British pole vault record.
The 23-year-old cleared 5.85m at the Muller British Athletics Championships in Manchester on Friday.
Earlier this year the former World Youth Champion cleared the Olympic qualifying height of 5.80m in Rouen, France.
This actually happened right?! I wasn’t asleep, I didn’t dream it 😂

Coppell continues to make huge progress, despite lockdown frustrations.
As an 18-year-old, he became the first British male to hold a world pole vault title when he took gold in the IAAF World Youth Championships in Ukraine in July 2013 to achieve the historic feat.
