PRESCOT Hockey Club are now back in training at Sutton having followed local council and England Hockey directives.

New players of all abilities and ages welcome on Saturdays and Wednesday evenings from September.

The return to hockey training has coincided with several club players getting County and regional recognition in 2019 and 2020.

This led to Great Britain and England player Michael Hoare contacting Prescot directly to organise some coaching sessions with the club. Michael is one of the very few players from the North West to make the grade at international level, winning 156 caps and playing at two Olympic Games.

As well as playing for Wimbledon HC in the Premier League Michael is also a professional teacher and hockey coach and the sessions will run in January and February 2021.

The long term mission is to establish a hockey academy for North based players to give them a pathway towards playing international hockey.

Prescot hockey have had unprecedented success over the last six seasons with both first teams now established in the North league. This success has coincided with junior players going on to play for Lancashire, Cheshire, the North and make it to international squad level.

It will only be a matter of time before more individual and club success comes their way.
