LYNETTE and George Houghton are two of St Helens Tri's strongest all round athletes and swept the board at the Hero 8k obstacle race in Preston. George won the race outright while Lynette's 7th also gave her the ladies title.

They followed it up with an appearance at the Derwent Epic Lakes Swim, Lynette finishing the 3.8k in just over 1hr20 while George beat his mile PB by over two minutes.

Ann Gregory also enjoyed her swim at the Uswim Salford 5k as she beat her two hour target by three minutes.

The club also had a good turnout at the Griffin Grind. Seven members ran, with Louise Johnson coming up with the performance of the day as she was first lady home.

Meanwhile Charlie Stirrup added Challenge Roth to his list of Ironman races as he recorded an amazing average speed over 20mph on the 112 mile bike leg en route to finishing in under 10 hours 50 minutes.
