Haydock Park to host one of premium racing events The Temple Stakes

HAYDOCK Park is set to host The Armstrong Group Temple Stakes Day, one of its most premium annual racing fixtures, on Saturday (May 25).

For the fourth year, the event supports the ABF Soldiers Charity and members of the armed forces will be activating in the family friendly, military village, showcasing a variety of heavy artillery and machinery.

Based in the Be Friendly Enclosure, racegoers can enjoy activities ranging from a bouncy, inflatable Hercules Aircraft, a mine detecting treasure hunt and you can even try on a parachute.

There’s even the chance to watch an impressive parachute displays with the Royal Logistics Corps Silver Stars Parachute Team expertly landing on the course between the first and second race.

Throughout the event, three military bands will provide music and the day’s racing will close in true Great British Bank Holiday style with a performance of pop and proms classics by the Haydock Brass Band, allowing guests to enjoy an early evening of entertainment in the Paddock.

On the track, the £100,000 Grade 2 Armstrong Aggregates Temple Stakes looks like a highly competitive race staged over five furlongs. Last year’s tremendous renewal of the race saw the brilliantly-fast Battaash for trainer Charlie Hills recover from a slow start to get up and deny Kachy for local trainer Tom Dascombe and the Michael Dods-trained Mabs Cross in third. Battaash, Kachy and Mabs Cross feature among the 21 entries for the 2019 running of the race.

Gates for general admission open at 12.15pm, offering racegoers plenty of time to place their bets before the first race begins at 2.15pm. There are a further six races to follow with the final race running at 5.45pm.

Tickets for this premium day of Flat racing start at just £16 for access to the Grandstand and Paddock. Those looking to add an additional dash of class to the day’s racing can upgrade to the County Enclosure or Premier Lounge to enjoy respective benefits including access to exclusive bars and eateries and improved views of the course.

Hospitality packages at the Park Suite, a spectacular viewing restaurant situated on the second floor of the Makerfield Stand, are also available, offering racegoers and their guests the chance to ‘wine and dine’ in style. As well as providing panoramic views of the course, with the final furlong and winning post in clear sight, Park Suite is also perfect for large private parties with capacity for up to 400 guests.

The hospitality experience, which starts at £114 per person, includes premier course admission, three course menu, a private table with waitress service and a cash bar, complimentary racecard, reserved car parking and a private tote facility

Whichever ticket racegoers select, they are guaranteed a sporting Saturday afternoon to remember, complete with family friendly activities, live entertainment and of course, a fantastic roster of Flat racing.
