ST HELENS Tri completed their most successful season to date with some stirring performances. Eddie Hirst was rewarded for his performance at Ironman Wales with a place in the Great Britain Team for the ETU Long Distance Triathlon Championships in the Netherlands in September 2019 as well as securing qualification for the European Middle Distance championships in Targu Mures and both the standard distance duathlon and Aquabike world championships in Pontevedra.

Kevin Dunbar had a top 50 placing and sub-45 minute time at the Tatton Yule Yomp 10k, finishing around 10 minutes ahead of Helen Broderick. On Boxing Day the club enjoyed success at two popular events.

Oliver Murphy led Claire and Chris Murphy home at the Greencastle 5 mile road race, his time of 35:37 placing him in the top 150, while Robert Chesters finished strongly at the Chester Round the Walls Race to place ninth in a time of 26:22.
