Well done Daddy! Junior cheers Michael Smith to semi victory

MICHAEL Junior could not hide his delight after seeing his dad Michael Smith reach the 2018/19 William Hill World Darts Championship after claiming a semi-final victory on Sunday.

The four-year-old, and his mum Dagmara, were among the packed crowd at London's Alexandra Palace which saw the Clock Face thrower book a final date with Michael van Gerwen after beating Nathan Aspinall.

Smith Junior is no stranger to the dart board, with his dad revealing that the youngster hit his first 180 on a full length board recently, and practises every day after school.

He had a good tutorial on Sunday, seeing his dad hit a record 17 maximums in the semi-final.

The win keeps up Smith's hopes of having the prestigious Sid Waddell Trophy at his wedding when he marries Dagmara in January.

There is also the small matter of the £500,000 prize for the winner at stake in the repeat of the Premier League Final against the world number one.
