Parkrun tribute paid to Aaron

ST Helens Tri have paid tribute to Aaron Reading, who died on Thursday 15 November after an eight month illness.

Aaron competed in numerous races for the club since its inception in 2015 including the Lancaster Triathlon and Warrington 10k.

However, his most significant contribution to the local racing scene was his role in establishing the Stadt Moers Parkrun in Knowsley.

On Saturday the club paid a fitting tribute with a show of team spirit at his home event. In the 100th Parkrun held at SMP Mike Gregory led the way as he finished sixth and won his age group in a time of 22:06. Helen Broderick was fifth lady home in 26:05 while Wendy and Stephen Webb completed the course with Nick Hall in just over 30 minutes.

Aaron’s funeral will be held at 10am on Thursday 29 November at Our Lady of Christian’s Portico.
