St Helens Parkrun marks its fourth birthday tomorrow

ST HELENS Parkrun will celebrate its fourth birthday at Victoria Park tomorrow.

Since it started, 5,862 people have trodden the hallowed tarmac around one of the borough's most beautiful parks and shared a brew under this magnificent bandstand.

In that time 404 different people have volunteered and have given over 180 days to help the people of St Helens run the 5k course.

This year alone, nearly 1500 have registered which shows that St Helens Parkrun continues to attract people to run the course.

Between them, 244,505km have been covered - more than six times around the world.

It attracts runners - and walkers - of all speeds with the average run time of 31mins.08 and the fastest of 15mins.18.

Tomorrow'a run starts at the usual time of 9am in Victoria Park.
