Wilson dazzles in heat

ST Helens Striders wonder boy Dave Wilson, weaved his magic as he produced yet another terrific performance.

He managed yet another personal best, 35:17, finishing in 11th place.

Thousands turned out for the inaugural event with some 41 Striders taking part.

Anthony Ellis exceeded himself with a new PB, 41:15.

Kelly Hamilton valiantly led home the ladies, finishing seventh overall female in a time of 42:14.

She was pushed all the way by teammate Hannah Whittaker, 43:02. And in her first ever outing for the Striders, Rachael Middlehurst ran, 61:59.

In the Llangollen 10k Trail.

Ian Floyd, who has given so much time to the Strider cause, impressively took almost eight minutes off his previous outing, with a new personal best of 58:21.

In the Yarrow River Bluebell 10k Trail.

Jon-Jo Doherty finished in second place overall.

He was then followed home by his long standing teammate David Briscoe.

A field of 300 took part in the picturesque countryside of Chorley.
