PRESCOT'S John Garton-Pope claimed a speedy double clear to take the win in the Champagne Cave Winter Grades B & C Qualifier of 2018 at Bishop Burton College in Beverley, East Yorkshire.

With just two tickets remaining for this year’s Championship Final at the renowned Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead, West Sussex and competition proved to be fierce.

Nine combinations took their place in the jump-off with only three managing to produce a double clear over the challenging course.

Garton-Pope rode two consistently accurate rounds to leave all the fences standing for first place on board his own 11-year-old bay mare, Cicoly D.

This partnership finished in 44.81 seconds.
