ST HELENS' very own ‘Super Saturday’ takes place at Ruskin Sports Village this weekend, writes Jack Coslett.

A variety of fixtures are to be staged there tomorrow, making the area busier than usual.

Saints’ pre-season friendly against Sheffield Eagles has sold out with a capacity crowd of 450.

The game, initially scheduled to be played at the Totally Wicked Stadium, was moved to the 3G pitch at Ruskin earlier this week due to the relaid pitch at their usual home not being ready.

Along with the regular foot and vehicle traffic for the site's leisure centre and function rooms, the Saints fixture alone would add to the Dentons Green area being more popular than usual.

But Pilkington FC, currently top of Cheshire Football League Division One, will be hosting derby rivals FC St Helens at Ruskin, kick off 3pm.

And Ruskin RUFC's first XV are scheduled to host Widnes RUFC's third string, kick off 2.15pm.
