Productive start to winter for St Helens Tri

St Helens Tri have enjoyed a productive start to their winter racing season. At the first round of the Manchester Cross Country League Louise Hogg led Myka Heard and Jennifer Miller home in a seven-strong ladies team, while 16 entered the senior men's race and Eddie Hirst held off Mark Turner and Robert Chesters in the club's best XC meeting to date.

The star performer of the month however has undoubtedly Mike Goulbourne who scored a brilliant third place at the Arley Hall Half Marathon where his time of 1:17:24 was a minute faster than his previous best.

He followed that up by leading a team of six home at the Snowdonia Marathon where he finished in just over three and a quarter hours.

It was a also a good weekend for Adam O'Shea who recovered from a difficult start to crack the top 15 at the Delamere Night Runner 10k.
