IT was an Ormskirk and St Helens Parkrun double for St Helens Tri last Saturday as Mark Turner matched his result from the previous week, scoring a new PB of 18:44 in the process and Kevin Dunbar achieving the same finish at Victoria Park where Kevin Dudley joined him in the top ten and Emma Austin was second female.

At the Rainford 10k the following morning Sam Wardle led the club home in fourth place just three seconds away from a podium finish while Kevin Dudley and Dave Gaskell joined him in the top 25 and Sarah Taktak completed her first 10k in under 55 minutes.

The star performer of the weekend, however, was Claire Murphy at Ironman Barcelona.

A strong swim and an even stronger bike leg set her up for a solid marathon run as she finished in a remarkable 12 hours 19 minutes and 45 seconds.
