Jon-Jo Doherty completes a remarkable Dream Trail double

ST HELENS Striders were scattered all over this bank holiday weekend with records broken and trophies received.

A locally hosted and supported race in our very home town, the Dream 5 and 10k trail race was supported and participated by many Striders.

Jon-Jo Doherty set an amazing standard in particular but not only winning the 5k race in a time of 18:52 but immediately afterwards he completed and won the 10k in an incredible sub 49 time if 39:03.

The mid week Cheshire 10k was host to the mid Cheshire 5k in which all racers did fantastic and gained new PBs. Peter Fairclough was first to finish in a time of 17:11 followed by Kelly Hamilton in 18:40 which wasn't only a PB but also a new club record. Next back was Mark Riley 18:46, Rachael Fairclough back from injury gained a new PB next in 19:23 and Mark Hamilton 21:53.

Great Aberdeen half marathon was ran by solo strider Scott Robertson in 1:28:02. Whilst 2 striders Peter Teeling and David Navis completed the inaugural Run for Rhys 5k in Liverpool.

Furthering the distance Kev Brennan within 8 weeks completed his 3rd ultra marathon in the hills of the Lake District in an amazing 14th position.

Additional mentions firstly goes to a group of striders who compleated the gruelling coast to coast cycle over the bank holiday weekend. Whilst secondly Paul Booth, Stuart Tagg, Angela Jones, Sharon OConnell and Mike Cox all compleated the west lancs summer triathlon.
