IT was a post Ironman junior success special for St Helens Tri as Charlie Murphy and Joseph Duffy beat the 22 minute mark at the Ormskirk Parkrun, Charlie's time of 21:54 giving him a new PB.

The following morning it was the turn of Adam Jones to taste glory at the Crosby Lakeside Junior Aquathlon as he recovered from being fifth out of the water to overtake his rivals on the run and win the Youth Boys race by 11 seconds.

The seniors enjoyed success as well, including at the Snowdonia Marsthon where Mike Goulbourne returned to form in emphatic fashion by finishing second in his age category and 12th overall.

Kevin Dunbar also cracked the top 70 while over in Yorkshire, Caroline Stalker's outstanding first season with the club continued as she was first female home at the Northern armed forces triathlon championships in Harrogate.
