Derby win for Crusaders

TWO of Pilkingtons three rounders teams clashed at Ruskin last Monday with Crusaders eager for a first win against their youngest team, Centurions.

Being asked to bat first Crusaders stood their ground for 47 balls, before being dismissed for 7½. Three full rounders were scored – one each from Julie Murray, Clare Ellis & Lucy Taylor and ½’s were added by Clarice Mitchinson (3); Tasha Lee; Julie (2); Clare, Lucy and Jackie Bailey.

In reply, Centurions were dismissed in 22 balls and were pegged at 2 with a full rounder from Katie Devine who also scored a ½ and a ½ from Donna Jackson.

Obliged to carry on, Centurions faced another 26 balls but only managed to add 2½ to their score the only full rounder coming from Gemma Lenehan, who also added a ½; other ½’s came from Donna and Ali Haggerty.
