Busy week for Striders

Busy week for Striders

It has been a busy and exciting week for St Helens Striders with lots of races and lots of PBs to be had.

Starting with the Liverpool Harriers' 5k mystery series on 9 May, Scott Robertson, Danny Fegan, Neil Dixon and David Navis competed in the first race of the series at Wavertree. Scott finished in 35th place and was the first Strider home with a 5k PB of 18 minutes and 52 seconds.

On Friday 12 May, Carol Foster, Nicola Howard, Jade Booth, Adele Crawford and Karen Mason competed in the first race of the Knowsley Summer 4 mile Series held in Halewood. Carol was the first Strider across the line in 32 minutes 11 seconds.

Sunday 14 May was the busiest of all. Starting in Leeds, not getting his fill at the mystery 5k, David Navis also competed in the Leeds Half Marathon. David finished the race in 1 hour, thirty-seven minutes and 17 seconds and bagged a course PB.

In Wales, Karen Mason and Ian Floyd competed in the Llangollen 10k trail race, which follows the famous Llangollen canal and is known for being an undulating yet beautiful course.

Last but by no means least, a team of Strider warriors took on the Howgills trail 26 and trail 13. Kevin Brennan competed in the trail 13 whilst Claire Lindsay, Leslie Abbott, Alex Abbott and Gary Spriggs competed in the trail 26.
