ST HELENS Striders runners tackled the roads of Manchester and Liverpool at the weekend.

With the sun putting a spring in the Striders' steps, Kevin Brennan, Rachel Tickle, Anthony Cheers, Paul Hargate and Tony Horsfall took part in the Asics Greater Manchester Marathon.

Brennan was first Strider to finish the race in 3 hours, 8 minutes and 46 seconds.

Meanwhile, down the East Lancs, Striders took part in the Vitality Liverpool Half Marathon and Vitality Liverpool 10 miler.

Scott Robertson smashed the half marathon course and was the first Strider home in an impressive 1 hour, 27 minutes and 21 seconds.

Danny Fegan was first Strider to complete the 10 miler in 1 hour, 10 minutes and 41 seconds.
