LIZ Spensley is an inspiration to all at St Helens Tri.

As well as being the only club member to compete in all five rounds of the winter Manchester cross country league she walked off with the FV70 title.

On Saturday she took part in the Ormskirk Parkrun and beat the 28 minute mark for the first time, 27:48 giving her a new PB by 16 seconds.

Wendy Webb and Diane Taktak have also enjoyed success, both recording PB times at the Wigan running festival with Wendy recording 32:25 in the 5k and Diane going under the two-hour mark in the half marathon.

She also tasted success this past weekend at the Knowsley Duathlon where she finished third in her age group, while Phil Ellison won the men's race and Rob Preston had a strong outing, just missing out in the podium in fourth position.
