Prescot Men 10 City of Manchester 0.
Prescot Men 10 City of Manchester 0.
Prescot firsts inflicted City of Manchester’s all-time heaviest defeat at Sutton.
The home side were in no mood to ease up on their opponents with goals from Si Boulton, Tom Doyle and Will Jobes (2) putting Prescot four up inside 12 minutes.
Prescot piled forward with Jobes adding another before James Lomax and Jay Mortimer added a brace. Boulton added the ninth before Nathan Johnson smashed in volley lob from the top of the D to finish off the scoring. The win extends Prescot’s winning streak to seven from seven as the look for back to back promotions in the North West hockey league.
Prescot Ladies 2 Urmston 2.
Another ding dong battle resulted in a fair draw between two physical sides. Urmston struck early but Prescot came back strongly with a classic team goal finished in style by Amanda Lomax. In the second half Steph Heaps put Prescot ahead before some concerted pressure from Urmston resulted in a goal. The ladies are now unbeaten in three.
Prescot Ladies seconds 2 Manchester Moss Park 0.
The ladies twos took on Moss Park in the Manchester Cup, who used their physical presence to good effect early on. However, captain Emma Downie rolled the subs allowing Lucy Coreless to drill in a well worked team goal just before half time. Keeper Dawn Waring made some excellent saves throughout the game to keep the visitors at bay before Corless weaved more magic in the D to score a fine individual goal and secure the Cup win.
