MANY St Helens Striders raced at the weekend at both local and overseas events.

Twelve Striders hopped aboard and travelled across to Lisbon to take part in the Rock n Roll series event.

The half marathon took place in very hot conditions with all Striders finishing the course.

Well done to Amanda Coogan, Angela Jones, Gemma Webster, Jo Keogh, Jo Jackson, Mike Brunt, Mike Cox, Pauline Horsfall, Rebecca McKenna, Sharon OConnell, Tam Jones and Tony Horsfall.

The Rainford 10k was held on Sunday also in our very own town in which runners race to compete for the George Faulkner Memorial Trophy.

A flat, friendly local event saw many Striders taking part with a sea of red vests along the course.

Jon-Jo was first Strider across the line and third overall in the event in a time of 35:36.
