Large number of PBs from St Helens Sutton athletes
ON Sunday St Helens Sutton A.C. members competed in the season’s last Cheshire League match at Warrington.
There were 30 athletes representing the club, 15 of whom competed for their first time with a large number of personal best performances.
For the Under 11yrs. Girls, Rebecca Durrance long-jumped 3.19m., ran 12.9secs for the 75m. and threw the javelin 8.70m.
Beri Silihi long jumped 2.91m, ran 12.5secs for the 75m. and 2 min.34.0 secs. for the 600m. and threw the javelin 8.33m.
Arwen Lawrenson long jumped 2.25m, ran a 13.6secs. 75m. and had a 5.29m. javelin throw.
Caitlin Harrison long jumped 2.08m, ran 13.9secs and threw 6.52m, while Poppy Handley-Hicking ran 14.1secs for the 75m, Olivia Byron ran 11.5secs. for her 75m. (pb) and long jumped 2.99m.
Betsi Silihi ran 13.5secs. for the 75m, and 2 min.43.1secs, jumped 2.34m. and threw 5.18m..
The boys competed at the same events, Jacob Roberts ran 12.5secs. jumped 3.38m. and threw the javelin 9.40m., Kenzie Van De Hann threw 8.25m and ran 2 min.56.2 secs. for the 600m.
Joseph Colley ran a 13.5secs. 75m and a 2 min.30.1 secs. 600m and jumped 2.55m. Ryan Morris ran 2 min.26.2 secs. (600m.) and Thomas Durrance ran 13.0secs. (75m.), jumped 3.35m and threw 10.61m..
In the U13yrs. girls Lauren Taylor got pb’s in all of her events, running 32.5secs for the 200m. and 2 min.37.2 secs. for the 800m and threw the shot 5.99m.
Chloe Ledger ran 40.9secs for the 200m. and threw the shot 4.19m and Jasmine Scott ran 33.8secs for the 200m and 3 min14.3 secs for the 800m.
In the U13yrs boys, Michael Dobson ran 5 min.07.7 secs for the 1500m. (pb) and Adam Beardsworth ran 6 min.00.0 secs. (pb).
Max Harrison ran 16.4secs for the 100m, long jumped 3.36m. and threw the javelin 12m. (pb). In the 1500m., James Morris ran 6 min.20.7 secs. (pb) and Daniel Johnson ran 6 min.26.2 secs. (pb).
The U15yrs. boys saw Charlie Roberts run a13.7secs. 100m (pb) and a 2 min.21.1 secs. 800m and high jumped 1.25m. Nathan Harrison got a pb in the 100m with 14.7secs, high jumped 1.25m and threw the shot 7.05m. (pb).
Patrick Neafcy ran 14.7secs in the 100m. (pb) and threw the shot 6.29m. (pb)., Stephen Mayston threw the shot 4.64m. (pb) and Liam Houghton got a pb in his 800m with a time of 2 min.53.2 secs.
For the U15yrs. girls, Jessica Durrance ran 32.0secs. for the 200m. and Sky Mather ran 32.9secs.
Peter Davies competed in the U17yrs.men running 200m. in 25.5secs. (pb) and threw the discus 15.61m .(pb).
In the seniors competition Julia Hayes threw the hammer 20.34m and Ian Conway threw the shot 7.86m..
Four of the club’s senior ladies ran in the Wigan 10km. road race and all achieved season’s best runs.
Fastest was Rachel Beesley who ran a Personal Best time of 43 min.47 secs, with other PBs for Diane Taktak (W45), 54 min.35 secs. and Karen Harrison (W45), 56 min.42 secs.. Amy Corfield’s time of 48 min.13 secs was her best for the season.
