Rounders round-up

MONDAY saw Crusaders at home to Warriors and with just seven players, they elected to bat first and were dismissed in just 25 balls and allowed to score only four ½’s – one each from Natacha Lee & Joanne Perry and two from Olivia Jolley.

They proceeded with a good triangle to restrict the opposition to 4 – one full rounder from Ann Waterworth with ½’s from Jan Griffiths (4) and one each from Maria Hutton and VIcky McDonald.

Crusaders then doubled their score with three ½’s from Olivia and one from Clarice Mitchinson, thus forcing Warriors to bat again requiring only one ½ which Amy Williams achieved on their second ball.

On Wednesday, the other two Pilkington teams met.

Vikings batted first, declaring on 10½ with three full rounders from Di Thomas who also posted two ½’s and two from Michelle Mulcahy.

Other halves were scored by Sara Bowling; Gemma Bowling (2); Steph Dagger (3).

Centurions were held to one ½ from Carole Foster and obliged to follow on, they managed three more – another from Carole and one each from Allie Hagerty and Donna Jackson. Final score 10½:2
