Centurions triumphant

PILKINGTON Crusaders were defeated by new club team, Centurions. They batted first and top scorer Nic Ericson, with 4 full rounders, helped them to a score of 10.

Centurions replied with 8½. Top scorer was Carole Foster with three full rounders and a ½.

In their second innings, Crusaders added 9 with 6 from Nic, including 4 full rounders and two penalty ½’s for obstruction.

Needing 10½ to win, Centurions kicked off with a ½ from Vicky Mousdale and reached their target with top scorer, Donna Jackson, contributing three full rounders & four ½’s. Final score 19½:19

The following night, Warriors took on Haydock. They kicked off winning the toss but had to field with two key players missing at the start. Gemma Hurst’s score of 6 contributed to Haydock’s total of 13.

In reply, Warriors were held to 3½ with Cassie Moran & Jan Griffiths scoring the only full rounders and obliged to carry on, they were only allowed to take their score to 6. Final score 13:6 and an innings.
