JAMIE FOSTER has signed a new two year contract with Saints, the winger revealed on his Twitter account this afternoon.

The 21-year-old former Blackbrook amateur said: "Happy to announce I have just signed a new 2 year contract with St Helens.

"Lots of you already guessed but only signed on the dotted line about 45 minutes ago!"

The new deal ends speculation the goalkicking threequarter may switch to rugby union.

He follows Jonny Lomax and Jon Wilkin in extending their contracts with the club, who will play their first fixture at 18,000 capacity Langtree Park this month.

Youngsters Lee Gaskell and Tommy Makinson also agreed new contracts in 2011.
