ST HELENS Junction is definitely in need of more than a lick of paint to tart it up.
It needs to be more welcoming for travellers on both sides of the line. Surely it would be much better, aesthetically and financially to revamp the ticket office rather than demolish and rebuild.
Hopefully they’ll also consider that the stairs up and down the bridge are a killer for elderly people with luggage and no one there to assist from staff on the site.
But please keep the character of the building. It fits in with the surrounding area.
