A WOMAN whose body was discovered near Liverpool’s loopline has been identified as a missing mother-of-one.
Paula Hounslea, from West Derby, was 38 when she went missing in the summer 2009 after a family meal.
Her remains were found near Blackthorne Road in Fazakerley last weekend (Saturday, May 5), prompting a police appeal.
An investigation is continuing into her death, which is being treated as unexplained as this time.
DCI Phil McEwan said: "I would like to thank the media for their help with our enquiries so far.
"Now that we have made a positive identification our investigation into the circumstances surrounding Paula's death will continue.
"Our thoughts remain with Paula's family, who have asked that the media respect their privacy as they try to come to terms with their terrible loss."
