MORE than 300 Doctor Who fans travelled across time to make sure a special day proved a stellar event.
The event at Rainhill Library saw a galactic turnout of devotees of all ages, including Cybermen, Daleks, Doctors a-plenty and, unusually, a fairy!
The day gave people the chance to try their hand at badge making, creating their own aliens and quizzes.
There was even a best costume prize, won by the Eleventh Doctor, also known as Ezekiel Thorp, 12.
Gayle Rowley, community library officer at Rainhill, said: “The event was very successful.
“Being our first Doctor Who event, I was surprised it was so well attended. The children and adults really enjoyed it and we had an unbelievable turnout.
“Our regular customers thought it was fantastic too, coming in and seeing the libraries so well-used.
“We had people coming in to return books and then staying to look through everything that was going on,” she said.
The event is part of a programme of themed events the library runs. Previous themes include Thomas the Tank Engine and Fireman Sam.
