NEWCASTLE football legend Alan Shearer showed he hasn’t lost his sharp shooting skills when he officially opened a stunning £2m indoor sports centre.
The former England captain - now a BBC Match of the Day pundit - enjoyed a kickabout with youngsters at the Fives Indoor Sports Centre, on Ravenhead Road, St Helens.
The building has been converted from a former Ravenhead Glass company warehouse into a stunning sports zone.
It includes nine third-generation five-a-side football pitches and one 65-metre by 25-metre pitch.
Shearer told girls, boys and dignitaries gathered for the opening that he is keen to see more youngsters out playing football and sport.
