SOME of rugby league’s real macho men are getting their kit off for a special calendar…to support Steve Prescott’s charity appeal.

Former Saints including Paul Sculthorpe, Lee Gilmour, Chris Joynt and Prekky himself have stripped bare for the 2010 Naked Calendar - with strategically placed objects masking their ‘modesty!’ Masterminding the operation has been Saints and Wigan Athletic sports photographer Bernard Platt who has been shooting the snaps on location.

Among the “cheeky action” are pictures of a Prekky trying to steal the Super League trophy away from Leeds’ starkers stars Kevin Sinfield and Keith Senior.

Warrington’s Adrian Morley unpops all his “Buttons” on stage with the panto cast of Cinderella as he searches for his magical rugby boot at St Helens Theatre Royal.

Lee Gilmour “buffs up” on his table tennis skills, while Ade Gardner is likely to bowl the “maidens over” in his cricketing pose.

Also joining in the fun are Super League referee Steve Ganson and St Helens-based Premiership football whistler Chris Foy.

Prescott, the 35-year-old ex-Saints full back, was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2006 and has inspired a fundraising mission that has amassed thousands for charities. Calendars are priced £5.99.

They will be available from Tuesday, December 15 from Saints club shops, Lanes Trophies, ODs Menswear and online at steveprescottfoundation.co.uk Money raised from the sale of the calendars will go to money for the Christies Hospital Manchester and the Try Assist Fund, formerly known as the RFL Benevolent Fund.
