SWEETHEARTS Darren McWalters and his bride Katie Hodgson tied the knot - while soaring 1,000ft in the skies strapped to the wings of a biplane.
Darren (24), a fitness instructor at Parr Leisure Centre, married Katie, from Leyland, Lancashire in a ceremony with a difference on Tuesday (August 5).
He said: “We got engaged in the Brazilian rain forest and I wanted a wedding blessing that would top my proposal!”
“We did our first wingwalk on Valentines Day and the thrill of soaring through the skies on the wings of a biplane was amazing, I can’t think of a more exciting way to celebrate our love for one another!”
Despite the wet weather holding up proceedings in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, for a couple of hours, the daredevil duo were not to be defeated.
And as the skies cleared they took off, joined by a vicar strapped backwards on a third plane, who conducted the ceremony.
