POLICE have closed a stretch of the East Lancashire Road both ways following a crash.
Traffic monitoring service Inrix report the A580 is closed both ways due to an accident between Bridgehouse Lane, Fazakerley and A5207 Moorgate Road, Knowsley.
A traffic update states: “Traffic on eastbound side of the closure is able to join the M57 at J4 (Randles Farm Interchange), traffic from the Fazakerley side is able to join the M57 at J6 (Kirkby).”
Witnesses report Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue and North West Ambulance Service are all at the scene.
