PLANS have been put forward to install a 5G mast near to a petrol station.
Proposals have been sent to St Helens Council planners seeking prior approval for a 20m-high monopole at Garswood Garage, on Garswood Road.
The plans also include for a headframe supporting six antennas, a 600mm transmission dish, a 300mm transmission dish, and two ground-based equipment cabinets in a fenced compound, and ancillary development.

A letter from applicants Cornerstone in the application states it "is identified as the most suitable option that balances operational need with local planning policies and national planning policy guidance.
"It will deliver public benefit in terms of the mobile services it will provide".
The letter adds: "Cornerstone is the UK's leading mobile infrastructure services company. We acquire, manage and own over 20,000 sites and are committed to enabling best in class mobile connectivity for over half of all the country's mobile customers."
The application is on standard consultation to the public until Monday, May 13. A decision on the application is set to be made by June 15.
