FIREFIGHTERS were called after a car went up in flames on the Rainford bypass.
Crews were called to the bypass on Thursday evening, December 2.
Two fire engines attended the scene shortly after 6.20pm and and the fire was put out.
It is believed the fire started accidentally.
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "Firefighters were called to the Rainford Bypass, near to the golf club, on Thursday, December 2 following reports of a vehicle fire.
"Crews were alerted at 6.16pm and on scene at 6.24pm.
"Two fire engines attended.
"On arrival crews found one vehicle well alight.
"Firefighters extinguished the fire and left the scene at 6.44pm.
"It is believed the fire started accidentally."
