FIREFIGHTERS were called after a bus was engulfed in flames in Billinge this afternoon (Tuesday).
Crews attended the blaze on Conway Drive, near the junction with Royden Road in Billinge.
Firefighters spent almost an hour at the scene tackling the flames.
No injuries were reported, a fire service spokeswoman said and the vehicle had been evacuated before crews arrived.
The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, she added.
It is believe one car nearby had been slightly melted.

A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We were called at 1.06pm to Conway Drive.
"We got there to find a bus well alight and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
"The driver and the passengers had already evacuated the bus.
"There were no injuries sustained and the cause of the fire was accidental.
"We were on scene until 1.57pm."
