A CHARITY ball is to be held in memory of a 21-year-old who died from a hidden heart defect.
The James Nicholas Foundation is hosting the black tie event at Ruskin Drive in February.
Former De la Salle and Carmel student James, from Dentons Green, died days before his 22nd birthday in October 2012.
His family, including parents Kevin and Lesley, launched the foundation which has given its support to Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), an organisation which aims to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death and promotes heart screening programmes.
The foundation has so far hosted eight heart screening events, with 786 people tested so far with 42 having been referred for further investigation.
The Ruskin Drive event will see indie band The Patriots performing along with comedian and DJ Terryokee. There will also be a buffet on the night.
The ball takes place at the Percival Suite, Ruskin Drive on Saturday, February 10.
Tickets are £20 per person. Contact the James Nicholas Foundation Facebook page for tickets.
