A BUS careered out of control and ploughed into two cars and the wall of a house.
The number 152 veered off Rainford Road, Windle close to the junction with Bleak Hill Road at 8.25am.
It is believed the driver suffered a medical episode.
Neighbours reported hearing a crashing sound and seeing the bus appear to lose control on the busy road, which is near to the Starbucks drive-thru.
It is believed the bus smashed into two parked cars - one of which was forced over a garden wall.
Part of the wall was destroyed.
A man, believed to be the driver of the bus, and a woman were taken to hospital.
A police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Rainford Road, Windle Island, at 8.25am, following reports a single decker bus had been in collision with a car and a garden wall.
"It is believed that the driver of the bus may have suffered a medical episode prior to the collision and has been taken to hospital.
"There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the incident.
"An investigation is currently underway."
