FIREFIGHTERS helped to rescue a cat stuck up a tree in Rainhill and return it to its owners.
Crews assisted RSPCA inspectors in rescuing the animal which was up as tree on Rainhill Road just before 5pm on Saturday, September 3.
One fire engine attended the incident, where the cat was stuck approximately nine metres up in the tree.
Crews used a ladder and specialist RSPCA equipment to reach the cat and bring it to safety.
The cat was unharmed and safely returned to its owners.
Firefighters remained at the scene for around 30 minutes.
