FIREFIGHTERS were called to Ravenhead Recycling Centre to put out a blaze after a van caught fire yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, March 2).
Two fire engines attended the scene on Burtonhead Road at 3.40pm and spent around 50 minutes tackling the blaze.
A spokesman for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "There was a transit-sized van which was on fire.
"We had two fire engines out there and they extinguished the blaze.
"There was a gas cylinder in the vehicle so they also monitored it to ensure it would not go up. They left the scene at 4.30pm."
