ST HELENS Central Library will join people across the world in celebrating the first ever Harry Potter Book Night with a range of spellbinding magical activities.
People are invited to dress as their favourite magical character or simply attend in their own ‘Muggle’ attire to enjoy the quizzes, wizard crafts and activities on offer as the Victoria Square library joins in a day of magical fun.
Live owls will also be at the event – just like Harry’s snowy owl Hedwig – with the opportunity to have a photograph taken with them and there will even be a game of Quidditch to play.
Susan Williamson, head of libraries, said: “We are so excited to be joining up with schools, libraries, bookshops and community centres throughout the world to celebrate the first ever Harry Potter Book Night.
“The books have captured the imagination of children and adults alike, making reading cool. We are thrilled to help more children and their guardians discover this magical series.”
The event takes place on Thursday, February 5, from 4.30pmto 6.30pm.
It is open for all ages but under eights must be accompanied by an adult.
It is a free event and booking is not necessary and more information can be found following @STHLibraries on Twitter.
